Zoe Butler
Zoe Butler launched her career in 2022 as an Americana singer-songwriter. She was raised in Portsmouth, Rhode Island and graduated from Brown University with a degree in economics and Africana Studies. The 24-year-old artist moved to Nashville in 2020 to pursue music and teach 9th grade math at a public high school. Fellow singer-songwriter, Ally Westover, connected Butler to producer Mike Fahey.
Butler’s priority as a songwriter has always been to tell meaningful stories. Storytellers that have influenced her lyrics include Caitlyn Smith, James Taylor, Joy Oladokun, Edna St. Vincent Millay, W.H. Auden, and Gabriel Garcia Marquez. She has been writing songs and short stories since elementary school and in 2017 she was recognized as a notable essay in the “Modern Love” College Essay Contest in the New York Times. Butler's debut EP, June, is her story of grief, friendship, anger and first loves.
June is dedicate to Luc and Rosie.

"Butler’s performance is imbued with a sense of purpose, knowing that the song — which she never planned to record — could prove a balm for those who have been left behind too early by loved ones." - Adobe & Teardrops
The 24-year-old singer, songwriter and musician was raised in Portsmouth, and her new single “Old New England Town by the Sea” is a wistful folk tune about giving it all up in order to return to a simple seaside life in Newport.

"The EP calls into question the notion that ‘it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all,’ because sometimes losses seem too colossal to overcome."
